Based on your experience in the classroom, what do you understand to be benefits of performance assessments?

some children have other skills that they use to commumicate with. for a learning disabled student it might diffuse some of that disability. 1 6.7%
you are able to assess the higher levels of thinking that need to take place in order for students to understand the concepts being taught. 1 6.7%
performance assessment lets you individually check and evaluate the performance of each student no matter what level they can work at. 1 6.7%

i can ask the students to use several concepts that they have been taught to create something that is theirs. they can express their own ideas using the concepts that they have been taught. 1 6.7%

performance assessments can be altered for different abiliities or learning styles. poor readers aren't penalized for not being able to understand what they read. students often don't think they are being evaluated when they do other types of tasks. 1 6.7%
students have a chance to show what they know in a variety of ways. i think it also can open up more peer communication about a topic. students often learn more from other students. 1 6.7%
