Students, I know you would probably rather be spending free time in the lab playing pinball or visiting the Coffee Break Arcade website, but I care too much about you to let even one opportunity for learning pass.

Therefore, I've discovered a few websites that I think would be entertaining, AND educational. Some are games, some are puzzles, but all are worthwhile sites to visit should you have a little spare time in the lab.  And remember, if it's okay with your parents, you can always play pinball or visit Coffee Break at home. Or, perhaps you'll even find something you like here and visit the site at home.

General:

Fun Brain - #1 Internet site for students. Many educational games to play for all ages - even adults!

Multi-Media:

How Stuff Works - An incredible site that explains how things work, everything from where comets come from, how muscles work to how investigators use DNA for evidence.

Brain Pop - Engaging short mini movies on the computer. Featured topics are science, health and technology.

Word Games:

Yahoo Text Twist - Try this timed word scramble from Yahoo Games.

Puzzles:

PuzzleMaker - Make crossword puzzles, word searches, cryptograms and more. A fun way to study for vocab and spelling tests.

JigZone.com - JigZone.com is the home of the amazing on-line puzzle site. This is a great site enjoyed by all ages but watch out - there are many annoying pop-up menus!
